iConnect
A community that connects us with one another and with Jesus.
iConnect is a small group community at Zion Church of Christ — groups of 8–15 people who gather regularly to share life, fellowship in God, and pray for one another. Through iConnect, church becomes family as we grow together in Christ.
Why iConnect
Four reasons we need iConnect.
The Word of God
The early church practiced two kinds of gatherings — the large celebration and the small-group fellowship. Today the world is flooded with information, both good and bad; the Word together with a community grounded in God helps us discern good from bad, right from wrong. Sunday service is not built for personal interaction — it is hard to live out, let alone evangelize, the values of the church without cell groups.
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,”
Acts 2:46 (NIV) Family as a church value
Like a family, at iConnect every person is treated as an equal — with respect, honor, and love. Not everyone is good, but everyone wants to become good (Christ-centered); not everyone is good, but everyone is accepted; not everyone is good, but everyone cares. We are social beings — we are stronger together, carrying each other’s burdens, and supporting one another in need.
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,”
Ephesians 2:19 (NIV) A space for growth
A community like iConnect allows deeper interaction between members — it is harder for anyone to "hide" in the crowd. Every member contributes and connects with the others; this opens significant room for both personal and spiritual growth. Jesus is present when we gather, and watching God work in someone else’s life strengthens each other’s faith.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) Service
The vision of Zion Church of Christ is to build Christ-centered, Bible-based individuals who bring a positive impact to the world. Impact sounds large — but it begins small, with the people around us. iConnect is the place for it: evangelism, shepherding, our church as the body of Christ, and developing new leaders.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
iConnect guide
Four key elements that shape the community.
Fellowship
Fellowship is the relationship between people — a family. At iConnect, fellowship encourages, shares, and befriends in Christ, meeting the needs of love, acceptance, unity, and support: sharing life updates, praying for one another, eating together, having fun as a family, and helping members in need.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
Acts 2:42 (NIV) Worship
Worship is the relationship between humans and God — the Temple. At iConnect, worship means praising and exalting God by focusing on His character, person, and Word: singing together (Praise and Worship), praying as one, and giving thanks to God.
“Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:25 (NIV) Discipleship
Discipleship is the relationship from God to humanity — the flock. At iConnect, discipleship is the process of being helped, taught, and guided by others so that mind and spirit grow more into the image of Christ: weekly/monthly verses, group bible study, applying Scripture in daily life, serving together, and stewarding spiritual gifts.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship.”
Acts 2:42a (NIV) Evangelism
Evangelism is the relationship from God to the lost — the army. Sharing the good news of Jesus is natural — it is the love of Christ expressed through our lives and words. Let the Holy Spirit work as you share Christ: helping those in need outside the group, praying for unsaved friends/family, inviting non-believers into the group, and sharing Christ directly or indirectly.
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:35 (NIV)
